Is Spiritualism A Fraud? or, The Medium Exposed (1906)
The first four shots of the film, inside the medium's house, are filmed in the studio.
Shot 5: on the south corner of Newton Avenue and Pembroke Road:
Shot 6: the wasteland between 80 and 92 Sydney Road (the wall of 92 is visible, to the left), viewed from the top of Newton Avenue. The hand-cart is coming down from Alexandra Road, whereas in the previous shot it had been heading up Newton Avenue towards this area from the opposite direction. This shot ends with the hand-cart heading up Sydney Road to the junction with Wetherill Road.
A 'now' photograph would only show the houses since built on that wasteland, but here is that parcel of land in Paul's The ( Motorist (also 1906), showing 80 Sydney Road, alongside a 'now' picture of 80 Sydney Road:
Shot 7: coming down Wetherill Road from the junction with Alexandra Road (so not from where the hand-cart had been heading in the preceding shot), towards the junction with Sydney Road (the towers of Alexandra Palace can just be made out in the distance) :
All three locations, then, are close to each other, but the movements from one to the other do not respect the topography of the area. (This is also true of Paul's film The Unfortunate Policeman, shot almost entirely on Wetherill Road.)
