There is only one map in the film, in General Outram's rooms, presumably of Uttar Pradesh, the region at issue in the story. The map recurs as background to conversations between the General and his staff, but no one ever consults it.
The game of chess is presented as a metaphor of sorts for the military conflict that is the story's historical frame, and so the chessboard may be thought of as map-like:
